MORE INFORMATION ABOUT VOC

It is no longer acceptable for employers to “assume an employee is competent”, which makes Verification of Competency assessment key for contractual arrangements and pre-employment competency checks.

VOC’s assessments are made on individuals who already hold a current ticket, licence or unit of competency, to verify that they are still competent to that standard. Persons undertaking a VOC must provide evidence of their existing competency.

Australian and offshore health and safety legislation requires employers to ensure employees are competent in equipment operation and the tasks to be performed.
